Description

Grass-fed tallow is rendered fat from pasture-raised cattle, and people have smoothed it onto skin for generations for one simple reason: it is remarkably close to the oils our own skin makes. That similarity is why tallow feels so at home on the body. It is naturally rich in the fatty acids and fat-soluble nutrients skin recognizes, so it sinks in to deliver deep, lasting moisture instead of sitting on top. For very dry, rough, or weather-stressed skin that never seems to stay soft, a tallow balm can be the richest, most nourishing step in a routine.

What makes this balm a pleasure to use is how it behaves. Even though it is deeply moisturizing, it melts into skin and absorbs without a greasy film, thanks to olive-derived squalane that lightens the texture while helping lock moisture in. A little goes a long way — a pea-sized scoop is plenty to soften hands, elbows, knees, heels, and stubborn dry patches. The warm, resinous note of organic frankincense essential oil turns each application into a small, grounding ritual.

How to work it into your day: the best moment to apply is right after a warm shower or bath, while skin is still slightly damp, so the balm can help seal that water in for softer, suppler skin. Warm a small amount between your fingers until it turns silky, then massage it into anywhere that feels tight or rough. At night, smooth a little over hands and cuticles or across the driest spots and let it settle while you sleep. A whisper of it also softens rough elbows and calms flyaways in the morning.

Build a simple ritual around it. Start in the shower with a gentle, plant-oil-rich bar like our Almond & Honey Soap, which cleanses without stripping so skin is primed to drink in moisture. For larger areas such as arms, legs, and shoulders, follow with a whipped Body Spread like our Almond & Honey Body Lotion, then spot-treat the roughest patches with this concentrated tallow balm. Finish by keeping lips just as cared for with a Chai Tea Latte Pucker Stick, whose warm-spice note echoes the frankincense beautifully.

Every tin is handmade in small batches in Monroe, Georgia, with naturally derived ingredients and a short, honest list. Like everything from Rinse Bath & Body Co., it is cruelty-free and crafted with care — the same way Heather has been making things by hand since 2003.

Ingredients

Our Tallow Balm is crafted with the highest quality natural ingredients: Adeps Bovis (100% Grass-fed, Organic Beef Tallow), Squalane (derived from the Olivel, ) & Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense) Essential Oil.

The Tallow is similar to your skin’s natural oils and is packed with essential vitamins, fatty acids like oleic acid and linoleic acid, and antibacterial properties. The Squalane works the same way- it mimics your skin's natural lipids, helping to lock in moisture without clogging pores. Finally, the Frankincense Essential Oil is great for fine lines & scarring. All 3 make this magical moisturizer a skincare must-have.

How to Use

After cleansing & any serums, massage a small amount into your skin for a long-lasting protective barrier. It can be used in the morning & at night or just at night, whatever your skin needs. This balm can also be applied to other areas prone to rough patches or dryness. It’s great for deep hydration on areas like elbows, knees, and heels. Tallow Balm also makes an excellent lip balm, cuticle balm

EVERY SCENT TELLS A STORY

Meet The Family

The Resinous family is our oldest scent lineage — frankincense, myrrh, and other tree resins that humans have valued for thousands of years. These are warm, earthy, slightly spicy, and deeply grounding. They smell like something that should be expensive. Frankincense was literally a gift fit for a king, and when you open this balm, you'll understand why.

FROM THE WORKSHOP

Tips & Tricks

A little goes a very long way — start with a pea-sized amount and warm between your fingertips before applying. Use on face, hands, elbows, or anywhere that needs intensive moisture. Apply at night as an overnight treatment for maximum absorption. Works beautifully on scars, stretch marks, and extremely dry patches. The frankincense adds anti-aging benefits, making this ideal for mature skin.
