What Squalane Actually Is

You've probably started seeing squalane everywhere — and for once, the hype is earned. Squalane is a light, scentless, fast-absorbing oil derived from olives. Your skin already knows it: your body naturally makes a lipid called squalene that works like a built-in moisturizer. The catch is that production tapers off after about age 30 — so topping it back up is where squalane earns its keep.

Squalane vs. Squalene

Squalene (with an 'e') is what your skin makes, but on its own it's unstable and oxidizes quickly. Squalane (with an 'a') is the shelf-stable, fully saturated version — same idea, none of the rancidity. Ours is 100% plant-based, vegan, and cruelty-free, derived from olives (never shark).

Why People Love It

It's featherlight and absorbs fast — deeply moisturizing without that greasy film. Because it's non-comedogenic, it won't clog pores, so even tricky and sensitive skin tends to get along with it. It's fragrance-free and gentle enough for daily use, morning and night. Customers have been known to call it their 'facelift in a bottle' — but mostly they just tell us their skin feels soft, calm, and hydrated.

How to Use It

Simple: a few drops onto clean skin, smoothed in with your fingertips. A little goes a long way.
