Squalane vs. squalene — and how to use it

What's the difference? Squalene (with an 'e') is what your skin naturally produces, but it oxidizes quickly on the shelf. Squalane (with an 'a') is the hydrogenated, stable version — lightweight, olive-derived, and built for daily use.

How to use it (from our squalane guide): start with clean skin. Pump a few drops into your palm and smooth over face and neck — remember, a little goes a long way. Wear it alone or under moisturizer to help seal in hydration. Morning and night both work.

Beyond the face: a drop on cuticles and nails, a fingertip through frizzy ends, or a dab on any dry patch that needs a soft finish. Start with the 1 oz pump; graduate to the 2 oz dropper when you stop rationing; keep the roll-on for bags and travel.

How to use squalane

After cleansing, pump a few drops into your palm and press into clean, slightly damp skin — face, neck, or any dry patch. Layer under or over moisturizer.
