Description

It smells like a coffee shop and exfoliates like one doesn't. Cafe Mocha is ground coffee and cocoa in a loose powder — stir a teaspoon with water, massage it on, leave ten minutes, rinse. One or two mornings a week, when dull skin needs waking up. Handmade in Monroe, Georgia.

Ground coffee does two things here. The grounds exfoliate as you spread the paste, and caffeine applied topically temporarily constricts blood vessels, which is why coffee turns up in de-puffing products — most noticeable first thing in the morning. Cocoa brings antioxidants and most of the smell. The clay base handles oil so the whole thing rinses clean.

Stir about a teaspoon with water until it's the texture of soft frosting. Apply in small circles to clean skin, avoiding the eye area, then leave it ten minutes and rinse warm. Mornings suit this one better than nights. Follow with a moisturizer. One or two times a week.

The scent is sweet and warm and comes from the ingredients themselves rather than from added fragrance — noticeable while you're wearing it, gone once you rinse. Mixed by hand in small batches in Monroe, Georgia, cruelty-free and gluten-free.

How to Use

Mix 1 teaspoon of mask powder with your liquid of choice until a smooth paste forms — try milk or grapeseed oil for normal skin, witch hazel for oily skin, or honey for dry skin. Apply a thin, even layer to clean skin, avoiding the eye area, and leave on for 10–15 minutes. Rinse with warm water, pat dry, and follow with your usual moisturizer. Use 1–2 times per week.
