deBug is our plant-based bug repellent made with essential oils — citronella, lemongrass, and rosemary — that naturally deter mosquitoes and insects without DEET or synthetic chemical repellents. It comes in a spray and a concentrated oil, both designed for skin application. The spray is the easy all-over option for kids and outdoor activities. The oil is more concentrated for targeted wrist and ankle application. The deBug Oil and Spray two-pack is the most popular combination. DeBug questions, answered

Does DeBug actually work without DEET?

Yes — citronella, lemongrass, and rosemary oils are proven insect deterrents. Reapply every couple of hours for best coverage, especially in heavy mosquito conditions.

Is it safe for kids?

Yes, for children over 3. Spray it on your hands first and rub onto little arms and legs, avoiding eyes and mouth.

Can I spray it on clothes and gear?

Absolutely — skin, clothes, hats, even the picnic blanket. It won't leave oily marks, though test delicate fabrics first.

How often should I reapply?

Every 2–3 hours outdoors, or after swimming or heavy sweating. The scent fading is your cue.
