Mineral sunscreen works by sitting on top of the skin and physically reflecting UV rays, rather than chemical sunscreen which absorbs into the skin and converts UV energy to heat. For people with sensitive skin, children, or anyone concerned about the systemic absorption of chemical UV filters, mineral formulas are the recommended alternative. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide — the active ingredients in mineral sunscreen — are not absorbed through the skin and have no documented endocrine effects.

The Rinse Sunscreen collection is mineral SPF 30 across formats: stick, lotion, and spray, with both adult and kids-specific formulations. Reef-safe certified — no oxybenzone or octinoxate, the chemical filters linked to coral bleaching. The Kids SPF 50 is specifically formulated for children's more sensitive skin with higher protection for extended sun exposure. For daily use, the stick format is the most convenient for face application and touch-ups. For full-body coverage, the lotion is the most efficient.
